Getting your shit together is hard, but doable
Day 1 of the #write-daily challenge.
I'd say that today was a good day. I somehow escaped the rut I've been feeling the past couple of days. How? Probably by being exceptionally productive at work and enjoying a beautiful sunny day after 5 days of laying in bed sick.
I picked up my journal after a 5-day break and got right back into it. This was a great decision, because, if I haven't done that, the whole journaling experiment would've been a failure.
This can be applied to all sorts of situations in life. Whatever goal you set for yourself, whether it's working out, meditating, eating healthy, creating a product; the difference between success and failure boils down to whether you've given up after a couple of bad days or you picked yourself up and continued pushing.
A good quote that goes hand-in-hand with what I'm saying, especially when you skip a day or two of something you've set yourself to do every day is this one:
Do not compare yourself to what others are today, but compare yourself today with who you've been yesterday.
