Day 1: Good start, solid finish

It's the first day of tracking my journey on the pursuit to happiness11 Check my "I'll do what's proven to be the best for me" post for context.

The day stared quite well. Had my morning coffee and then went for a pre-work run. Sadly, I've had a meeting coming up so I couldn't do the full 5-km run but I did a 3km run, averaging 5:10 per kilometer. I've set myself a goal to get my 5km run time down to what it was back in 2018, and that's 4:20 per kilometer.

I came home and showered. And let me tell you, just going for a run and taking a shower afterwards already made my mind much clearer than it is on days I don't do it. I sat down at my laptop and dived straight into productive work, rather than wandering around different websites.

So that ticket the 'Cardio' checkbox. Along with that, I've also slept 8 hours that night which also ticks the 'Sleep 8 hours' checkbox.

I've decided to not chase both Strength and Cardio checkboxes daily, but make them interchangeable, depending what I decide to do on a given day.

Eating healthy wasn't the case today, but that's fine22 I'll take rare quality family time over one day of not sticking to a habit anytime. I've had a healthy breakfast and healthy lunch. Dinner wasn't that healthy as I took my family out for burgers, and it was a great & social "event".

Meditation is the only thing remaining which I'll do soon after hitting the 'Publish' button so I'll tick that box off as well.

If there's one thing I can highlight in this article, it's the "lesson learned" from this morning. Granted, I've learned that lesson many times, but I'm being more mindful this time and soaking in the feeling.

Taking just 1 hour in the morning, to go for a run and for a quick shower afterwards, eliminates most of the mental blocks/bad decisions one might face when they dive straight into work in the morning.

I'll see y'all tomorrow!
